Simply Softeners offers a professional installation-only service for exactly this situation. You supply the unit; we handle everything else.
What our installation-only service includes
Our installation-only service covers the same professional work as a full supply-and-fit installation — the only difference is you supply the unit rather than us:
- Free home survey to confirm the unit is suitable and identify the best installation position
- Full professional installation by an experienced engineer
- Connection to your mains cold water supply
- Drain connection for the regeneration waste water
- Commissioning — programming the unit for your local water hardness and household size
- Testing output water quality to confirm correct operation
- Full handover and walkthrough — salt management, settings, what to expect
- Fixed written quote confirmed before we start
What you need to have ready
To make the installation day as smooth as possible, have the following in place before we arrive:
- The unit itself, unboxed and accessible near the installation point
- The installation manual or documentation that came with the unit
- Clear access to the installation location — under the sink, utility cupboard or wherever we agreed at survey
- Ideally, an initial bag of softener salt if the unit requires it
Which units can you install?
We can install the vast majority of domestic water softeners sold in the UK, including units from Harvey, Kinetico, BWT, Aquatec, Monarch, Tapworks, EcoWater and many others. We also install unbranded or own-label units purchased from online retailers.
The only units we may be unable to install are those with highly proprietary connection systems that require manufacturer-specific tools or certification. If you're unsure whether we can install your unit, call us before purchasing — we'll tell you immediately.
How the pricing works
Our installation-only labour pricing is straightforward:
- New installation (no softener previously fitted): £500 labour
- Replacement (removing an old unit and fitting the new one): £400 labour
These are fixed prices confirmed in writing after the free survey. If your installation has unusual complexity — long pipe runs, awkward access, non-standard connections — we'll identify this at the survey and quote accordingly before any commitment.
